Here’s my new tattoo :) I got it because ‘Save your heart’ is a song that got me through a whole lot in my life. Whenever I was feeling really down, the song would remind me that I am worth it, too. It’s a Mayday Parade song, which has another meaning altogether. Mayday has been one of the longest constants in my life and this is my little homage to them. I got into them in 2006, right after they were first formed, and now 5 years later I finally got to see them live (my first concert!) last week. I met them, and Derek Sanders and I talked about Save Your Heart and how much it helped me. He wrote the words out for me and it all solidified that I wanted it as a tattoo. I got it in white ink because it won’t exactly last forever, unless I choose to do a complete touch up in 15 years or so. But that’s kind of the point… I’m not supposed to save my heart for forever, you know? I just need to remember that not everything is worth going through and hell and back for, especially if that person doesn’t treat you well or if they take advantage of your feelings. I love it so much! I can’t wait until it’s fully healed.
